The Pueblo Children of the Earth Mother by Illustrated,Thomas E. Mails

2 Volumes in slipcase. Cloth over boards with sewn bindings. Over 1,000 pp; illustrations throughout.

The Pueblo Indians of Arizona and New Mexico have retained more of their traditional lifestyle than any other native peoples in North America. For generations, they and their ancestors, the Anasazi, have found peace with the spirits to which they entrust themselves, overcome incredible hardships, tilled the soil as part of a ritual of life, and created ingenious art and architecture. They provide a unique view into an unbroken history.

Thomas Mails recounts that history and culture in elegant prose with his exquisite drawings and paintings.

Alexandra
Live Volume two which deals with historic and contemporary pueblo peoples, this volume about prehistoric pueblo societies is well written and beautifully illustrated. I did feel it concentrated too much on the ancestral pueblo - the Anasazi - and paid little attention, only passing references to the Mogollon and Hohokam. None the less, I loved the book
Pruster
This publication is quite extensive and the drawings are lovely, as are the painted illustrations.
